How To Find Deanland By Road.

The airfield is to be found to the south of the A22 and north of the A27 between the towns of Lewes and Hailsham

From the North – A22.

Follow the A22 until you come to the village of Golden Cross between Uckfield and Hailsham. At the Golden Cross Pub turn off the A22 to the south, signed for Ripe and Deanland Wood Park. Having turned off the main road turn immediately right (around the Golden Cross pubs car park) again following the signs for Ripe and Deanland Wood Park. Follow this road past Deanland Wood Park and you will come to a sharp right hand turn, keep going and around a sharp left hand turn. Having gone around the left-hand turn follow the road for a further 200 meters and you will come to a 'post & rail' entrance on your right hand side (next to a house called Cleggetts Farm). Turn right off the lane and then into the airfield. If you come to a house on your left-hand side you have gone too far.

From the South – A27.

Follow the A27 until you come to the Firle straight, between Lewes and Selmeston. Turn off the A27 to the north where you see the signs for Ripe. Follow the road until you reach Ripe village. When you get to the mini roundabout by the Lamb Pub go more or less straight ahead in to Deanland Lane, sign posted for Golden Cross. Follow this lane for about 500 meters past houses on your left and right. Just after the last house on your right hand side you will see a house coming up on your left (Cleggetts Farm). Immediately you pass Cleggetts Farm you will see a 'post & rail' entrance on your left-hand side. Turn left off the lane and then right into the airfield. If you come to a sharp right hand bend you have gone too far.
